John Edgar
John Edgar is the president of John R.S. Edgar Consulting Inc based in Hamilton, Ontario. John has worked in various positions in the EIFS industry in Canada and the United States for nearly 40 years. His work has included research and development of innovative EIFS and air barrier systems. He is known for his construction detailing, calling attention to the fact that details, like buildings, should be created in three dimensions, not two.
John is on the Board of Directors of the EIFS Council of Canada, Convenor of the ISO Work Group for international EIFS standards, liaison to CEN TC88 ETICS Work Group and a member of the ULC S716 EIFS Standards Task Group. He is a member of the Ontario Building Envelope Council, Construction Specifications Canada and the ASTM E06 Committee on Performance of Buildings. In the past he has been a member of many committees, including the NBCC Standing Committee on Environmental Separation.
John received his diploma in Architectural Technology (Building Science) from Ryerson University in Toronto.
