Introducing the New North American Architectural Woodwork Standards (NAAWS)

These Standards should be the only standards included when specifying millwork projects, to ensure that the highest quality of millwork is produced on every project. 

During this one hour presentation, AWMAC will give a brief history of AWMAC, explain how to include NAAWS in your architectural woodwork specifications and how our Guaranteed Inspection Service (GIS) will give architects, designers, GC’s and clients peace of mind on all future projects.

Speakers: 

Laurie Suikki, Association Manager of AWMAC, Ontario Chapter and Peter Gallagher, President of the Ontario Chapter 

Laurie Suikki is the Association Manager of AWMAC, Ontario Chapter. She has been working in the construction industry for over 20 years with 15 years of experience specifically within the millwork sector. Along with her knowledge and understanding of woodworking, she also has many years experience successfully maintaining and managing offices, multiple construction projects and liaising with architects, managers, and tradesmen. Laurie’s organization skills and attention to detail are key to managing multiple projects at one time. Her top priority is to ensure that all parties within a project succeed together to provide the best possible outcome for each client.

As the Association Manager of AWMAC Ontario, Laurie employs this same philosophy when dealing with members, Architects, Designers, as well as all those with whom she works with on every AWMAC inspection projects.

Peter Gallagher has been an active member with AWMAC Ontario since 2011 and became President of the Ontario Chapter in February 2015.

Peter has been working in the millwork industry for over 35 years. He started his career in woodworking in the UK, followed by Bermuda and finally opened a successful millwork manufacturing company, Convoy Custom Interiors Inc., in Canada in 2003.

Peter’s passion for millwork is noted in his dedication to complete customer satisfaction on every project. His loyal clients continually seek out Peter and Convoy Custom Interiors to complete their architectural woodwork projects.
