STREAMS

more basic parameters, the Buildings for Tomorrow

TARGETS
LOCAL MARKET
The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) alone has a population
of approximately 6 million all within an hour of the
core of Toronto. Moreover, the GTA has a concentration
of building science consultants, academic institutions,
trades, materials suppliers, and persons with aligned
interests in building ownership and management.
These all represent a substantial source for papers and
delegates.
It is expected that in the order of 60% of the papers will come from this local area.
CANADIAN MARKET
The CCBST conference has typically attracted delegates
from across Canada. This arises from the practice of
moving the conference to the host cities of the various
BECs and as such the conference benefits from a
“Canadian” persona rather than a singular local
identity.
As such it is expected that papers will continue to be submitted from major centers across Canada and will represent, in the order of 25% of the papers and delegates.
INTERNATIONAL MARKET
CCBST has had a relative few papers from the United
States and overseas. In 2014, it is hoped that the
expanded scope and the attraction of Toronto as a
centre itself, will increase the number of international
papers and delegates.
OBEC, with the cooperation of supporting BECs across Canada has targeted 15% of the papers to come from international sources. It is also anticipated that 60% to 70% of those papers (10% total) will be from the United States; however, the topic may well be of international content.
The target number of delegates is set at 400.
